Admission to Fróðskaparsetur Føroya’s degree program in Faroese requires a General Certificate (studentsprógv) or comparable diploma. It is also required that each student displays a high level of proficiency in Faroese.
BA in Faroese language and literature
The education gives teaching qualifications for upper secondary schools and other higher educational institutes. The education also gives employment opportunities where a thorough knowledge of the mother tongue is necessary, i.e. within the media, administration and research institutes.

Master
The BA in Nordic, particularly Faroese language and literature is an education, which gives teaching qualifications in Faroese for upper secondary schools, higher educational schools and teacher’s training college. The education also gives good qualifications to work in for example the media. The BA exam together with a minor (exam.art) in other subjects is called cand.mag. (MA).
