New book: Baladas épicas feroesas
The bilingual anthology Baladas épicas feroesas was published in Spain in June. A number of ballads are printed side by side in Faroese and Spanish. The book is 352 pages long. Mariano Gonzáles Campo, author
The author of the book is Mariano González Campo. He has been on the Faroe Islands several times to work with Faroese subjects. He has been working at the National Library and at the Faculty of Faroese Language and Litterature. Also he has worked with a number of people interested in the ballad tradition. Professor Malan Marnersdóttir has written the foreword for the book. Here it is in a Danish version.
This is the second edition by Mariano González Campo on Faroese subjects. February this year his translation of the Faroese Saga was published in the book Saga de los feroeses.
Mariano González Campo has a spanish website where he writes in Faroese Culture: "El cuaderno del feroés".
The Publishing House Miraguano Ediciones publishes the books by Mariano González Campo út. The Faroe University Press is co-publisher on this new edition. The book is especially targeted to spanish speaking audience, but is also relevant to Faroese students of Spanish.
