is the abbreviation for Det Nordiske Universitetsadministrator Samarbejde (The Nordic Association of University Administrators). The purpose of NUAS is to strengthen and develop cooperation and communication between the universities and higher education institutes in the Nordic countries at all administrative levels.
There are 2 heads of universities from every country, and one from Iceland in the governing group. Faroe Islands and Greenland have observer status. The governing group normally holds 4 meetings a year. The administrative Director of the University of the Faroe Islands is the Faroese observer in the governing group.
In addition to meetings of the governing group NUAS organizes one annual meeting/seminar in one of the Nordic countries. In 2007 the University of the Faroe Islands hosted this meeting in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.
There are several professional groups under NUAS, which arrange seminars, etc. Representatives from the University participate when there are sufficient financial resources and manpower available.

is the abbreviation for Det Nordiske Universitetssamarbejde (Nordic University Cooperation), which is a cooperation between the universities’ coordinators in the Nordic countries. NUS should also work as the Association’s coordinator for the universities in communications with the Nordic ministers and other Nordic Councils and institutes. When appropriate the NUS is also responsible for Nordic coordination in international collaborations.
Meetings of rectors are held every other year. In 1995 a steering group was founded by the chairpersons from the collegiums of rectors in the individual countries, in addition to the general directors from the offices of collegiums of rectors. The Faroes and Greenland have observer status. The Rector of the University of the Faroe Islands represents the Faroe Islands in NUS.
Representatives of the University of the Faroe Islands have observer status in the Danish Rectors' Conference.
