The Secretariat
The Secretariat is the management office and the main administrative body for the institute and is therefore closely linked to the work of the Rector. The tasks of the Secretariat include making and coordinating proposals for the National Budget and subsidies, as well as being responsible for payments, booking in the FSL system and control of the subsidies given. The Secretariat is responsible for maintaining the University’s accounts and administering funds, grants, etc.
Other areas of activities overseen by the Secretariat include: external and internal regulations, University Council meetings, specific staff matters, records, registration (students, examiners, examinations, certificates, etc.), elections to committees, preparation of annual reports, and other information material, open courses, public lectures, dissertations and collection competitions, grants for study tours, cooperation and communication with other institutes at home and abroad.
The Secretariat also administers the shared offices for the Institutes at Debesartrøð and maintains the office for the International Office.
The Secretariat consists of an Administrative Director, who is responsible for the University’s administration vis á vis the Rector and the University Council, and 4 office workers.
