Content
This course focuses 50% on translation and 50% on creative writing. Translation teaching is both theory and practice-based. Relevant concepts in translation theory are examined and students have the opportunity to translate selected texts with guidance. In creative writing teaching will focus on writing prose. The course will examine, for example, how to use different sources of inspiration in the writing process, how writing can be conscious without stifling the unconscious, and how prose can be an instrument to see and understand life’s variations. Students will work both on learning from other writers as models and on finding their own voice as authors.

Teaching spans 3 hours a week over one semester. The approach used is workshop-based teaching with exercises, discussions, lectures and presentations.
