Course number
1680.22
Title
Internship - Music
ECTS
30
Prerequisites
Students must be enrolled on the BA in Creative Arts.
Purpose
Students learn to apply and assess their competences independently in practice by taking on tasks during an internship. In addition, students will learn based on tangible experiences from the internship to explain how music knowledge and artistic competences can be applied in concrete artistic practice.
Content
Internship modules are made up of work at a cultural institution, which is the internship setting, and a written report on what the student has done/produced/achieved and learned during the internship period. The internship setting may, in addition to a cultural institution, be a musical project in which the student takes part. Examples of artistic practice/independent music works, which have been executed or created during the internship may be submitted as part of the report. The internship location will, in cooperation with the student, draft a purpose statement for the internship. The purpose statement is subject to the approval of a supervisor, who is associated with the degree programme, as well as the programme leader, no later than at the start of the semester. The time spent by the student in the internship must be equivalent to 10 working weeks.
Learning and teaching approaches
Internships include both work during the internship and supervision. Students will have a supervisor, who is associated with the degree programme, and students will receive supervision 4 times spread evenly throughout the semester. As part of the internship students must keep a logbook, which the supervisor and student will use as a basis for supervisions when the internship is nearing its conclusion and the student is writing their report.
