Content
The course in Nordic languages gives students the opportunity to gain practical and theoretical knowledge of Norwegian (Bokmaal and New Norwegian), Icelandic, and Danish or Swedish. As the course is taught by guest lecturers it is not possible to know exactly when the course will be offered. Approximately fifteen lectures will be devoted to each of the three languages chosen for emphasis in the Nordic languages course. At the examination the student should be able to prove a practical and theoretical knowledge of Norwegian, Icelandic, and Danish or Swedish. For the examination the student submits course material or 50 pages of text for the examination in each language. Students who attend eighty percent of the lessons in each Nordic language in an active manner will be exempt from examination in the respective languages. An oral exam with 30 minutes preparation will be held after each course. The set texts and dictionaries are the examination aids. The tutor who conducted the course, or the tutor responsible will examine the student with internal examiners.
