Prerequisites
Students must have completed the required core component of the BA in Faroese. This course can also be taken as an individual course with other prerequisites (please refer to the academic programme in force).
Purpose
The student will acquire knowledge about newer and older research results in Faroese phonology, morphology and syntax.
Content
We will read parts of Faroese. An Overview and Reference grammar (2004; 2012); more specific: the chapters on phonology, morphology and syntax. Furthermore the students shall read different recent and older articles about these topics.
Learning and teaching approaches
Lecture, presentations, group-work, discussions.
Learning outcomes
The students shall be able to work with the distributed material and to use it in his further work with Faroese.
Assessment method
Oral examination with a PowerPoint presentation. Students will be set a question on the last day of teaching. The question will be based on the course with other prerequisites (please refer to the academic programme in force).

Faroese. An Overview and Reference Grammar. H. Thráinsson, H. P. Petersen, J. í Lon Jacobsen & Z. S. Hansen. Additionally we will read different articles and other relevant material. BA students shall read approximately 500 pages.
