The student must have passed the basic part of BA in Faroese. Students with similar prerequisites can apply for individual course participation.
Purpose
The student acquires insight in general teoretical and practical aspects relating to translation and its place in society.
Content
The course investigates general and practical issues relating to translation of fiction and non-fiction.
Learning and teaching approaches
Presentations by instructor and students of course material; discussion of relevant topics chosen by instructor and students; written exercises in analyzing translations
Learning outcomes
Knowledge and insight in the position and significance of translation in society. Knowledge of the terminology of the area and ability of analyzing the main aspects of the process of translation teoretically and practically; foundational conpetance in evaluating translation to Faroese
