Prerequisites
An academically oriented upper secondary diploma with a good average mark in Faroese (i.e. at least 5.8 on the 7-step marking scale or 8 on the marking scale from 00 to 13).
Purpose
The student will acquire knowledge about newer and older research results in Faroese syntax and syntactic variation.
Content
We will read parts of Faroese. An Overview and Reference grammar (2004; 2012); more specific: the chapter on syntax. The students will furthermore read different recent and older articles about topics in Faroese syntax, and we will read parts of Føroysk mállæra II. Syntaks (manuscript).
Learning and teaching approaches
Lecture, presentations, group-work, discussions.
Learning outcomes
The students shall be able to work with the distributed material and to use it in his further work with Faroese.
Assessment method
30. min. oral exam + 30 min. preparation.
