Reading List For purposes of examination, the student shall submit the reading materials from the course or 50 pages of text. Students that take a summer course in a Nordic language at a foreign university may receive credit for at most two languages, if desired.
Learning and teaching approaches
The course is composed of three language elements: Norwegian, Icelandic and either Danish or Swedish. Each course strand is about 15 hours. As the course is taught by adjunct instructors, it is not possible in advance to state when the course will be held
Assessment method
After each course strand, an oral examination with one-half hour preparation time will be held. Course materials and dictionaries may be used. The instructor who taught a specific course element or the responsible tutor shall conduct the exam using in-house examiners. Students who attend and actively participate in 80% of the lessons in each of the Nordic language elements are exempt from examination in that respective language.
