Course number
Modern Faroese. Phonology and Morphology (BA)
Students must have completed the required core components of the BA in Faroese or other equivalent preconditions. This course can also be taken as an individual course with other prerequisites (please refer to the academic programme in force).
The student will learn basic concepts in phonology and morphology, and get a thorough understanding of the phonology and morphology of Faroese.
We will read different material on Faroese phonology and morphology, and we will work on practical issues. In order to reach this aim, we will work with a text-corpus. Phonetic transcriptions are part of the course, which will give the students a better understanding of how to use IPA on Faroese.
