Purpose
In this course, student will
- gain thorough knowledge of the nutrition guidelines that Fólkaheilsuráðið (The Faroese Health Council) has published
- be enabled to disseminate healthy dietary habits among 1) children and those living in institutions and 2) those who are responsible for them
- prepare, conduct and evaluate initiatives that aim to provide healthy meals in kindergartens and other institutions
Content
The course consists of 9 thematic and interrelated parts.
1. Food and meals
2. Food culture
3. Dietary guidelines
4. Food awareness
5. Nutritional facts on food products
6. Health policies
7. Events and dissemination
8. Health initiatives
9. Sapere (the senses)
Assessment method
Students will write a research project. Further instructions on the paper will be provided in class.
External examiners will be used. Grades will be awarded according to the current grading scale.
