Purpose
In this course, students will gain competence in • finding the courage to make a public presentation • using one’s voice and train it • using a variety of tools when having to regularly deliver public presentations, including working on one’s voice and on self-development.
Content
The course consists primarily of a variety of exercises, which goal is to • help students concentrate on how they breathe and on the importance of breathing when making oral presentations • make students aware of non-verbal language and the importance of posture and body language when communicating with children, young people and adults • make students aware of the difference between natural and forced expression
Assessment method
The evaluation is twofold: Those responsible for the course will (1) take attendance and (2) evaluate whether students participate actively in the various exercises that are scheduled. Internal examiners are used. Grades are awarded on a Passed/Not passed basis.
