To give students an understanding of the principles of assessment of and for learning of the four skills of ELT and the ethics of assessment in the context of the teaching.

Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, learners must be able to: • Apply the principles of assessment in context. • Apply practical pedagogy in designing a skills-based teaching approach based on assessment tenets. • Use ipsative and peer assessment of teaching. • Analyse ethical issues using case studies in the classroom.
Assessment method
Designing a classroom activity to demonstrate understanding of the teaching approach to two skills in the context of a relevant assessment framework. An individual presentation.
