Purpose
In this course, students
- are given the opportunity to attain competence in taking charge of the teaching in mathematics and related subjects in primary schools
- will receive a foundation for further studies in the field of mathematics education
The course aims to make the student acquainted with various approaches to the discipline, both at the university and in different types of schools.

- A constructivist model for teaching mathematics
- Numbers
Assessment method
In addition to a student project (further information will be provided in-class), students complete small assignments. Attendance and participation in class also forms a part of the final assessment.
In case a student does not pass the course, they might write a paper or sit an oral exam in place of the failed assignments.
Internal examiners will be used. Grades are awarded on a Passed/Not passed basis.
