Purpose
To make the students familiar with the fundamentals in statistics and its application in life sciences.
Content
Basic concepts, sampling, processing and presenting data, measuring avarage and variability, probability concepts and distributions, normal distributions, data transformation, estimation, confidence interval, basis of statistical testing, frequency analysis, correlation and regression analysis, comparing avarages, ANOVA.
Learning and teaching approaches
3 lectures and 1 hours problem solving per week in 15 weeks. Working on two minor project.
Assessment method
Written examination, four hours with helping material. Two reports.
