Statistics 2 for biologists

Purpose
To provide the students with an understanding of multivariate statistical
methods with relevance to natural sciences and to give an introduction to
the use of a statistical software package.
Content
Multiple and Logistic Regression Analysis. Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA). Principal Components Analysis (PCA). Factor Analysis. Problem solving with a statistical software package.
Learning and teaching approaches
20 lectures and 12 hours problem solving and consulting. One mandatory assignment.
Assessment method
Final oral examination with ‘passed/failed’ grade. The minor project is included in the evaluation.
