Purpose
To provide the students with the basics of the morphology, anatomy, classification and phylogeny of important invertebrate groups, and provide a reasonable knowledge of taxonomy and identification.
Content
Classification and taxonomy. Protozoa. Porifera. Cnidaria.Platyhelmintes: Turbellaria, Trematoda, Cestoda. Nematoda. Annelida: Polyshaeta, Oligochaeta. Mollusca: Gastropoda, Bivalvia, Cephalopoda. Arthropoda: Insecta, Crustacea. Echinodermata: Asteroidea, Ohiuridea. Other smaller phylum.
Learning and teaching approaches
45 lectures 18 2-hour laboratory exercise
Assessment method
4 hour examination. No aids. 13-grade scale is used
