The ecological hierarchy. Strategies and adaptation of marine organisms to their biotic and abiotic environment. Reproduction, dispersal, retention and migration. Plankton. Benthic flora and fauna. Marine mammals and seabirds. Food webs and energy flow.

Lectures, colloquia and laboratory exercises.
Assessment method
Oral presentations of scientific subjects/papers
Written exam (4 hours). Graded marks. No aids
