Cell structure of procaryots and eucaryotic microorganisms. Catabolism and biosynthesis of microorganisms. Autotrophy. Growth of microorganisms. Impact of environmental variations. Functions in natural ecosystems. Symbiosis. Bacterial taxonomy and identification. Selected grroups of bacteria.
Laboratory exercises Bacterial identification. Growth rates of Serratia marcescens.
