Purpose
To familiarize students with the principles, processes and physiological systems of invertebrates and vertebrates.
Content
Physiological processes from cell to organ level. Integration of physiological systems as: circulation; gas exchange, acid-base, ionic and osmotic balances; acquiring energy and energy expenditure and energetic costs of meeting environmental challenges.

Lectures and practical exercises
Assessment method
Laboratory reports (20%), essay on a selected topic (30%), oral presentation of a selected topic (10%) and one-hour multiple choice exam (40%).
