Purpose
To give the students an overview of interactions between anthropogenic pollution and living organisms
Content
Various pollutants like DDT, PCB, dioxin, PAH, heavy metals, tributyl tin, and radioactive substances are described in terms of sources, route, and mechanism of transport, uptake in the organisms, metabolism, and excretion. Environmental effects are described, as for example acid rain, eutrophication, and hormone mimicking.

Having passed the course the student has got insight in Organic and inorganic contaminants, routs and mechanisms of transport and affects on living organisms.
