Requirements for admission are secondary school certificate with mathematics B level

The course aims to provide students with; • an introduction to business decision making concepts and techniques within various organisational setings • understanding of practical application of economic analysis to managerial decision making.

This course teaches business concepts that serve as prerequisites for managerial decision making – making the choice between available alternatives in order to achieve the organisational objective(s). Topics covered are the budgeting, valuations, costs, working capital, cash-flow and capital structures.

3 lecture hours + 2 hours of excercise for 14 weeks. The module lectures will covered specific economic concepts and definitions applicable to decision making along making reference to contemporary examples. Excercise hours are to provide students with the necessary practical knowledge (economic modelling in excel) which will enable them to critically interpret and examine business management issues.

The module aims to facilitate understanding of the main principles of modern business decision making, and at the completition of the course students should be able to understand and critically evaluate concepts of; • Corporate Goals and Corporate Governance • Capital Budgeting and Project Analysis • Valuation of Free Cash Flow (WACC, NPV & APV) • Risk and Cost of Capital • Financial Planning and Making Investment Decisions • CAPM • Corporative Debt and Working Capital • M&A and Corporative Restructuring

Oral Examination (viva voce) of 20 min. Student will chose one question and will have 40 min to prepare exam answers, during which time it will be allowed to have access to textbook(s) and lecture materials.
