Purpose
The course provides students with fundamental mathematical skills that are essential for the study and practice of economics, statistics, and econometrics.

Basic Mathematics - Set theory - Set properties  Open, closed etc.  Convexity and concavity - Sequences, series, and limits Basic linear algebra, including - Matrices and matrix operations - Solutions of linear equation systems - Determinants - The inverse matrix and its properties - Equations written in quadratic form Functions of one and several variables - Continuity - Differentiation and differential  Rules of differentiation  Conditions for differentiation  1. order, 2. order and higher order differentiation  Taylor series  Curvature of functions (concave, convex, quasi-concave, quasi-convex) Optimization  Conditions for maxima and minima  2. order conditions  Lagrange optimization method
