course Mathematics 1 is an advantage.
Purpose
The course provides students with fundamental mathematical
skills that are essential for the study and practice of economics,
statistics and econometrics.
Content
The topics include:
- Comparative statics
- Envelope theorem
- Kuhn-Tucker Conditions
- Integration and differential/difference equations
- Linear first-order differential/difference equations
- Linear second-order differential/difference equations
- Non-linear first-order differential/difference equations
Learning and teaching approaches
Lectures and classes.
Learning outcomes
Having successfully completed the course, the student will be able
to solve problems in these subject areas:
- Functions of several variables
- Comparative statics
- Envelope theorem
- Kuhn-Tucker Conditions
- Integration and differential/difference equations
- Linear first-order differential/difference equations
- Linear second-order differential/difference equations
- Non-linear first-order differential/difference equations
Assessment method
Oral exam with preparation time. The exam is 20 minutes and the
preparation time is 40 minutes.
