Purpose
For students to develop their capacity to work scientifically based on a project examining a clinical research question in nursing practice.
Content
Teaching and learning of the Module 11 project are organised as follows: • Workshop on research questions • Workshop on theory of science and methodology • Workshop on analysis • Workshop on discussion • Workshop on conclusions, as well as broader perspectives and context
Learning and teaching approaches
Teaching and learning of the theory component are organised as alternating dialogue, group assignments, and project-based work.
Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete the module can demonstrate the ability to: • identify, define, and provide reasons for a clinical nursing practice research question • explain the significance of the nursing practice research question in society • explain the scientific requirements for the research method applied to the project • search for, select, analyse and assess study and research results in relation to a clinical nursing practice research question chosen by the student • analyse a clinical nursing practice research question chosen by the student based on relevant theory • discuss to which extent the selected theories and research method answer the research question • formulate a conclusion and discuss the broader perspectives and context of their project • organise their own work on a coherent and systematic project
