Prerequisites
This course serves as an extension to course 5555.19, so participants must have attended that course first.
Purpose
To provide participants the necessary experience for designing a digital circuit of some complexity and implementing it in VHDL, as well as synthesizing it and running it on an FPGA.
Content
Students either select or invent a circuit description together with the supervisor, which they must implement for an FPGA.
Learning and teaching approaches
Group project with supervision.
Learning outcomes
A participant who has met the objectives of the course will be able to design and implement their own sufficiently complex circuit, as well as synthesize it and run it on an FPGA.
Assessment method
Participants must present their project at an oral demonstration as well as hand in a project report.
