Purpose
The objective of the course is to provide the students with insight in the theories, concepts and methods within innovation, and independent ability to use the in practice.
Content
The course focuses on what innovation is and how innovation kan be used in practice. The studentwill get an introduction to a row of theories, concepts and methods, which will provide the student with an ability to analyze and discuss what innovation is, how innovation work, and challenges/opportunities an innovation entails. Hereby, the course gives the student an introduction in, and knowlegde of, how processes work in relation to innovation. The course is based upon three fundamental subject: 1. The development of innovation theories throughout the history, including the importance and influence this has had on our everyday life. 2. The important theories being utilized in relation to innovation today. 3. The important methods as contribution to innovation procecesses. The course focuses on developing the partical abilities to realize the theories, concepts, and methods in practise.
Learning and teaching approaches
Lectures, group work, exercises and presentations, which support the development of leading innovation in practice.
Learning outcomes
When the course is finished, the student will be able to analyze and assess how innovation processes work and how these could be practiced/realized. The student must independently be able to: • Explain theories, concepts, and methods of what an innovation is, and how innovation work. • Analyze pros and cons regarding the ideas in relation innovation processes. • Analyze how innovations are affected by, and affect, the contextual environment where innovation take place.Use relevant material from the curriculum to understand and explain challenges in relation to innovation. • Critically assess how theories, concepts, and methods are relevant in concrete situations. • Hereby, the student will be able to complete an innovation process in practice, and how the concrete challenges could be dealt with. • Disseminate this knowledge and demonstrate this competence convincingly and with an academic skilled problem-oriented focus. Orally and in writing. The student will be able to conduct critical assessments of how theories, concepts, and methods from the curriculum are relevant in concrete circumstances.
