Purpose
To provide a basic knowledge of the theory of science and what it means to work with social science, interdisciplinary work in particular.
Content
This course teaches the history and theory of social science. The focus of the course will therefore be on some of the basic issues of social science, and the challenges in working inter disciplinary in particular. The course is divided into 3 sections: a) an historical introduction into the development of social science, b) issues in theory of science and c) project oriented interdisciplinary social science. The students will, based on the theme of the course, work in groups to develop the basic components of a problem oriented interdisciplinary project.
Learning and teaching approaches
The course is 30 hours, based on lectures, discussions and training. Also, the students will in groups to develop a problem oriented paper (10 to 15 normal pages).
Assessment method
Examination is oral, in groups, and based on the group work paper. Though, all the syllabys is included. The examinations is internal and judged according to the at the current marking scale.
