The purpose of the course is to provide the students with advanced conceptual and theoretical competences within the study of Politics and Administration in small states and islands.

Learning and teaching approaches
The course will be based on a combination of lectures, seminars and group work.
Learning outcomes
The student should be able to:
Formulate and communicate an advanced interdisciplinary understanding on politics and administration.
Analyze and discuss the key roles of politics and administration in modern/ late modern societies.
Make reflexive choices between different theories and theoretical approaches and their practical purpose in understanding the role of institutions and organizations in the development of societies.
Identify and define concrete problems and methods in studies of politics and administration, relevant for advanced understanding of modern institutions and organizations.
Understand and reflect upon institutional and organizational change
Reflect upon the above-mentioned problematics in relation to small states and islands.
