Case report – self study course in law

Prerequisites
Bachelor degree or equivalent with adequate component of law
Purpose
To organise a case report database. The student shall with the report database on labour law on www.fg.fo and other Faroese or foreign reports as models demonstrate his/her understanding of the importance of decisions for law developed in practice by collecting and organising decision in a relevant field. The student shall demonstrate and appreciate the importance that registration forms, search engines, search parameters, summaries and search terms, in addition to balancing the publication and secrecy for the state of the law and its accessibility.
Content
The course requires that the student has opportunity to self study either as an intern or otherwise gaining access to decisions and thereafter has opportunity to organise them into a report database. Decisions must be registered with all necessary data for their identification and search in addition to necessary summaries and purposeful search terms. In addition to the report database, formal guidelines shall be written to ease both future updates and access. The student may be given the opportunity to present the case report.
Learning and teaching approaches
Self study with instruction as need arises most likely in co-operation with an institution that administers relevant decisions. The student shall submit a concrete proposal and may then get an approval with further conditions as well as an individual deadline assessment.
Learning outcomes
The students shall: -Collect, register and summarise an adequate number of representative decisions. -Work with a relevant institution to create a report database. -Demonstrate an understanding of case-law and the development of law in practice.
