The University of the Faroe Islands' Activity Plan

Three overarching tracks based on the AI policy

Competence development for staff

Workshops will be organized across all faculties and within the central administration. The purpose is to provide staff with knowledge about different types of AI tools and give them hands-on experience in using these tools in teaching, research, and administration

Support for experiments using AI

Staff can request access agreements/licenses for various AI tools. The purpose of using these tools in teaching, research, or administration must be described when submitting the request. All staff who receive a license will be asked to provide feedback on their experiences, e.g., during staff meetings. In addition, selected larger experiments using AI in different areas will be organized. An internal “call” for project funding will be sent out later.

Structured communication about AI usage

A dedicated AI hub is available on the University’s website (AI at the University - Setur). Here, continuous updates will be provided on the policy, action plan, competence development, and experiments, along with referenceds to external resourses on AI in teaching, research, and administration. Various presentations will also be arranged during staff meetings.
