British Ambassador visits the University
Last week, students and staff at the Faculty of History and Social Sciences at the University of the Faroe Islands were visited by Victoria Billing, the new British Ambassador to Denmark.
Victoria Billing gave a presentation to bachelor’s and master’s students at the Faculty of History and Social Sciences, who had many questions for her about the work of a diplomat, geopolitics in the North Atlantic and international politics more generally.
Following her visit to the University, the Ambassador travelled, among other places, to Vestmanna to meet British military personnel taking part in “Operation Lion Protector”, an exercise conducted by the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), a UK-led coalition of NATO countries.

The Ambassador gave an engaging presentation, and the students responded with many questions on topics of particular interest to them.

Heini í Skorini and Jens Christian Svabo Justinussen, both Associate Professors at the Faculty of History and Social Sciences, welcomed Ambassador Victoria Billing to the University.
