The Thorvald Poulsen of Steinum Fund will again award a grant to a young promising artist on Thorvald's birthday, February 8th - this time in the auditorium at Frælsi 20 in Tórshavn at 19:30

The annual awarding of the grant from the Thorvald Poulsen of Steinum Fund to a young artist who has shown exceptional talent is due again.

A public event will be held in the auditorium at the Faculty of Education at Frælsi on Thursday, February 8th, from 19:30 to approximately 21:00. Everyone is warmly welcome.

The purpose of the Thorvald Poulsen of Steinum Fund, according to article two of the statutes, is to support and encourage young people with artistic talent for education. The founding capital of the fund is the inheritance from Thorvald Poulsen of Steinum, according to his will. A three-member committee, consisting of the rector of the University of the Faroe Islands, the chair of the Faroe Islands Teachers Association, and the chair of the Faroese Artists Association, manages the fund.

Currently, the committee consists of: Bergur Djurhuus Hansen, Dean at the University of the Faroe Islands; Jacob Eli S. Olsen, chair of the Faroe Islands Teachers Association; and Marita Dalsgaard, chair of LISA.

The grant is awarded on February 8th, which is Thorvald's birthday. The committee decides who will receive the grant, and it is not awarded based on application. The first time the grant was awarded was in 2001.
