Public Lecture: Gender and Stereotypes in Working Life

Gender, career choices, and mobility will be on the agenda at Kongshøll on Tuesday, April 8, when researcher and advisor Helene Pristed Nielsen takes on the stereotypes in our working lives.

Is access to all jobs truly equal and open to everyone?

For example, is it more difficult for a man to choose to become a nurse than it is for a woman to join the military?

How do our ideas about “real men” and “real women” shape which educations and career paths seem accessible to women and men?

Join us in Kongshøll at Vestara Bryggja on Tuesday, April 8 from 15:00 to 16:00, where Helene Pristed Nielsen, researcher and affiliated associate professor at the University of the Faroe Islands, will give a lecture on gender and stereotypes in working life.

She will also share her own experiences as an advisor on diversity and gender equality in the Danish Navy.

The aim of the lecture is to challenge, inform, and inspire reflection. Because what does gender equality really mean in practice? And should equal numbers of women and men in the navy, for example, be a goal in itself?

Everyone is warmly welcome!

Please note: The lecture will be held in English.
