Teaching at University of Faroe Islands

A standard course of 7.5 ECTS has around 80 organized hours (lectures, exercises, laboratory exercises, etc).

Research interests

I have spent most of my "research" time to establish methods and build a lab that actually is able to do molecular research.

We are working in two methodological areas:

  • DNA methods, focusing on PCR and DNA sequencing. We are aiming at establishing the competence for NGS sequencing, although, at present, the sequencing itself must be done abroad. We aim at "hands-on" establishment of all steps before sequencing, and all post-sequencing and analysis steps.
  • Mass spectrometry, as this is a technique of wide applications, like metabolomics, environmental pollutants, and proteomics.
