Føroyskt úrtak
Evnið í greinini er valrættur í Føroyum. Serliga verður viðgjørt, hvørt ásetingar í ríkisgrundlógini hava við sær minstukrøv til valrætt og valbæri eisini í Føroyum. Hóast ríkisgrundlógin tykist hava sum fortreyt, at bert ein lóggevi er í ríkinum, so hevur heimastýrisskipanin við sær, at løgtingið er tjóðarting Føroya og mest viðkomandi lóggevi fyri danskar ríksiborgarar búsettar í Føroyum. Tessvegna verður hildið, at minstu grøv ríkisgrundlógarinnar mugu flytast yvir á føroyska vallóggávu. Eisini tekur greinin upp spurningin um føroyskan heimarætt, serliga út frá ásetingini í heimastýrislógini um at vera heimahoyrandi í Føroyum. Greinin varpar ljós á teir gloymdu møguleikarnar í hesi áseting. Tað tykist sum § 10 í heimastýrislógini og orðið „heimahoyrandi“ ikki, sum ofta hildið, ger allar danskar ríkisborgarar, ið búgva í Føroyum, til føroyingar; heldur gevur § 10 føroyingum rættiliga víðar ræsur til sjálvir at gera av, hvat „heimahoyrandi“ kann merkja og tískil, hvat ein føroyingur sambært verandi skipan er og ikki. Loksins ber greinin saman valreglur og ásetingar um heimarætt í Álandi til tess betur at kunna meta um frægastu tulkingina av okkara skipan, umframt um føroyska skipanin samsvarar við altjóða reglur.

English Summary
The subject of the article is the right to vote in the Faroe Islands. Especially the question of whether the Basic Law of the Danish Realm sets minimal standards for the right to vote and to be elected in the Faroe Islands. Even though the Basic Law seems to presume that there is only one legislative power in the Realm, the Home Rule arrangement has led to the Law Thing being the Parliament of the Faroe Islands and the most relevant Legislative Power for all Danish nationals living in the Faroe Islands. Therefore, it is assumed that the minimal requirement provided by the Basic Law must be transferred onto the Faroese election laws. Furthermore, the article looks at Faroese citizenship relating to the „At Home“ Clause of the Home Rule Compact. The article sheds light on the forgotten opportunities in this Clause, as it appears that the prevailing interpretation of the words „at home,“ regarding every Danish national with Faroese domicile as Faroe Islander, must give way to a better view; accordingly, the Faroese have considerable latitude in determining for themselves what the more precise meaning of the words „at home“ can be and, consequently, what is and what is not a „Faroe Islander“ according to the current system. Finally, the article compares election laws and provisions on „Home Rights“ in the Aaland Islands in order to ascertain the best interpretation of the Faroese arrangement, including whether it complies with international rules.
