Purpose
The purpose is to give the students a general introduction to political theory.
Content
Emphasis will be put on the understanding of classical and modern political theory. The subject is wide and focus will be put on key concepts and theories about the state, power, political systems, political parties and ideology. Where possible the themes will be illustrated with Faroese examples and thus put into a Faroese context.
Learning and teaching approaches
: The course is 30 hours long. The teaching consists of the teachers lectures and potential guest lectures. Smaler exersices will also be assigned and the students shall present their results in front of their fellow students.
Assessment method
Oral examination based on an essay written by the student about a topic choosen by the student together with the lecturer (max 5000 words, footnotes and litterature list not included). The examination is external and judged according to the at the current marking scale.
