Research at the University

Since the University of the Faroe Islands was established in 1965, it has maintained a diverse research environment, with a steadily increasing number of scientific publications in both international and Faroese journals.

The research portal pure.fo, which serves as a showcase for Faroese research activities, provides individual profiles for researchers where they publish their scientific work. In addition, the annual research reports of the University of the Faroe Islands provide an overview of the research activities taking place across the institution.

Research at the University is often conducted in collaboration with other research institutions, both in the Faroe Islands and abroad. These partnerships also play an important role in teaching, examination, and the peer review and evaluation of each other’s scientific work.
