Learning and teaching approaches
Work at the university Approximaely 10 sessions during the practice learning period are allocated to attending seminars at the university. Attendance is compulsory for these seminars. Students write an academic practice learning report based on the practice learning experience. The work at the university is academic and practical support during the practice learning period. This will be arranged in the form of presentations with critical feedback and debate, seminars, and/or lectures. Students are required to present their work and to provide peer review of others’ work. In the event of practice learning work placements abroad, special arrangements will be made as to how this will be organised (e.g. online attendance). Work at the Practical Learning Workplace The practice learning work is based on a joint agreement between the university, the practice learning workplace, and the student. The objective of the agreement is to ensure that the student is carrying out academically relevant work through insight/assignments/analysis of daily work within the workplace.
Upon completion of the course, the students shall be able to: • Write an academic practice learning report, which encompasses the field of study and her/his particular chosen theme, and this way eliciting new and relevant knowledge. • Reflect on the practical experience the student has acquired in the practice learning period, including significant challenges and experiences seen from an academic point of view. • Critically reflect on the field of work or particular assignments, which the student has carried out at the practice learning place of work. Scientific reflection on own practice learning experience grounded in a problem-oriented approach and independent work.
Before the student may take his/her examination, s/he must have participated satisfactorily in the academic work at the university. This will be approved by the course leader. The assessment will be conducted with a basis in an overall assessment of the practice learning report and an oral examination.
The bibliography is individual and must describe concepts, theories, and methods of relevance for reflective, practical academic work. The practice learning report should be between 8,000 and 12,000 words.
