Changes in hours at The National Library
The National Library is implementing a new IT-system and this affects the opening hours
Almost all the libraries in the Faroe Islands are switching to a new library management system, called Reindex.
The system will come into use in July 2020.
From Monday the 29th of June it will not be possible to request or borrow books from abroad. Landsbóksavnið will be closed from the 6th of July to the 10th of July while the installation of the system takes place.
- During this perioud, we will not be able to carry out or answer reservations from our users, and consequently reservations through bokasavn.fo will not be possible. Please bear with us during this time. We look forward being able to give you a much better service in the near future, the library says in a newsletter.
